About

TROPO UK is pleased to announce its third conference, which will take place on September 13 and 14, 2024, at Newcastle University. Our aim is to continue reflecting on the teaching and learning of Portuguese in all its varieties and educational contexts, whether as a foreign, second, additional, or heritage language, across all levels of education, from preschool to higher education, in formal or informal settings.

TROPO UK, the Association of Language Teachers and Researchers of Portuguese in the UK, aims to promote the study of the Portuguese language and its varieties for the benefit of the public; to encourage scholarly research into didactic and pedagogical aspects of learning and teaching Portuguese; and to disseminate good pedagogical practices of learning and teaching Portuguese language in order to support the professional development of teachers of Portuguese.
